Holiday Hampers at Tech

Every year high schools in VSB raise cans for charity in December. This year we're keeping all those cans HERE. Holiday Hampers are staying at Tech.

From November 28th until December 12th our school will be collecting items and money to help support our own Van Tech families.

Students can bring items (see below) to their Day 2 Block 1 class (next week that will be their class after break on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

What do we really need for our hampers?

• Money (cheques to Van Tech or cash) – We have an arrangement with Superstore to get food at a significant discount. We also can put a gift card in hampers to get fresh produce and groceries.
• Pasta – Carbs are crucial to providing energy
• Chilis/Lentils/Protein – Long lasting protein for kids at school
• Soap/Shampoo/etc. – Often overlooked in a hamper
• Snacks for lunches – Energy for afternoon classes

Please check expiry dates before bringing in anything.

Thanks so much to everyone who helps! This is a very important initiate at our school. And our goal is to have enough food that after building our hampers we will be able to start our own school pantry so that our school community can lend a hand at other points during the school year.
