The question, "Do you have any homework?" is actually a really difficult one for anyone to answer right away. Answering it seriously (and not just in the classic yes/no means going through all your classes, previous work, what happened that day, and then to recall it. This is of course why agendas come in handy. They act as the executive functioning for a student.
But while it's a tough question, it's also a great opportunity to help teach our students how to plan and prepare. This graphic organizer is designed to help build the skills of prioritizing tasks - talk about something huge in the average adult's busy life.
Feel free to download this and use it daily. I suggest starting with students working for one hour at a time. It's a good level for a grade nine. Let me know if you've got questions.
